Dirty Hair

Do you guys wash your hair everyday? I'm sure you can tell by the title of this post I don't. It kind of grosses Andy out but my hair is so much healthier as a result. Over the years I've developed a little routine that I thought I'd share in hopes you guys will share yours too. I'm always looking for new tips and tricks!

Day one - I let me hair air dry 99% of the time so it doesn't look as pretty as the straight hair above but it dries fairly straight and with the help of a little argan oil to ease the freeze it does the trick. If you're a daily blow dryer this is a good tutorial.

Day two - I usually introduce a hot tool to add a little wave or curl. If my hair has been in a pony tail for a workout it's easier to add wave and hide it than re-straighten it also holds a curl better a little dirty. I usually don't require dry shampoo on day two but if you do, this and this are my favorites.

Day three - At this point dry shampoo is a must, spray/shake into your roots and use your fingers to work it in. The key here is to only dust the roots, the rest of your hair will get too dry if you spread throughout. If you're having a good day by all means keep it down but I usually opt for a braid or a bun.

So there you have it, my little routine. Any good tips I should try?

Three Summer Make Up Looks to Try!

I'm so excited for today's post!  Today we have a guest post from a good friend, Carrie LaMarca.  Carrie is a friend from college and is a professional make up artist.  After college, work took Carrie to DC and Nashville, but she eventually made the decision to leave her cushy corporate job to move to New York to become a make-up artist!  (Guys that's a scary decision.  It's hard to leave a well paying career and cross your fingers that you can make a living doing what you really love!)  Carrie moved to New York to learn about the world of professional make up, and has since relocated to Miami where her career is thriving!  I'm so excited for her and thrilled that she's going to share tips plus three summer looks with us:

Carrie now works on amazing magazine photoshoots and travels all over doing make up at the professional level!  You can check out her website here.  Carrie, thank you, thank you for sharing these tips with us.  I'm very guilty of sticking to my same make up routine year round so I can't wait to try these out.  I think I'm a Look 3 - Fresh Face, BRIGHT Lips kinda girl!  :)

Spring Lipsticks!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love red lipstick!  I'm not shy when it comes to red lipstick, but when the weather is warmer, I think it's nice to switch things up for a warmer weather look.  Corals, pinks, and lighter nudes are all really popular this time of year.  It looks like bright matte lips are the trend this spring, and many magazine have great round ups of their favorites.

Favorite CORALS per Marie Claire magazine:
Costa Chic by MAC for a subtle coral look
Nars Niagara is a coral with a pinker hue
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte in Rose Paris
or my Grandmother's favorite La Prairee in Corail

Favorite PINKS for spring per Harpers Bazaar:
Susan Posnick Color Essentials Lipstick in LA
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Colour Lipshine in Saga
NARS Tolede for a darker pink shade
Dior Addict in Espiegle

Refinery 29 recommends NYX Matte Lipstick in Audrey.  For only $6 this may be a fun trend to try!

Heath and I are both big fans of Tarte's Lip Tint.  They give just enough color without looking silly! :)  This weekend we plan to pick out a new spring color.  If anyone has any suggestions, let us know!

Spring Nails

My go to year round nail polish is usually Essie's Fifth Avenue red but recently I switched to a peachy coral for spring. While I've been gravitating towards bright colors lately this post from Joanna got me thinking about a pretty spring neutral. In the past I've stuck with classics like Bubble Bath and Sand Tropez for spring neutrals but I think I just may embrace this white nail polish trend. Here are a few options I found.

What do you think, would you wear white nail polish? Do you go bright or neutral for spring?
