Fall's IT Item | Midi Skirt

You may remember back in May we talked about Summer's IT item well now Summer has come and gone it's time to start thinking about our Fall wardrobe. I'm thinking this Fall is the Fall of midi skirt. I'm not over the moon with the name these skirts are given but I love how wearable they are for day and night. I also love how they are part fresh and modern and part feminine and old fashioned. There's a wide variety of these skirts available this fall too so I'm betting there's one for everyone.

I’m anxious to try a flowing midi skirt this fall. It’s a little out of my norm but I love how fancy they can feel with high heels and how casual and comfortable they can feel with a t-shirt and flats. These are the most versatile if you ask me and the easiest to wear for most figures. I’m pretty sure everyone has a hand full of blouses already in their closet that would be perfect with this style skirt. I found a few options here, here, here and here.
I usually prefer a fitted skirt. I tend to wear lose blouses and sweaters so a pencil skirts counteract that fit well. I actually own a green tweed midi skirt I’ve had for ages. It’s an old favorite that makes me feel so tall and lean. That’s the beauty of a midi skirt to me. They really elongate your body with the right fit. Find some here, here, here and here.
The fuller styles can be a bit tricky but with the right fit can be super flattering. Petite figures especially need to make sure the length and fullness doesn’t overwhelm your body. The him on a full skirt needs to hit at a flattering point on your leg so this is one of those items that you may have to get altered to hit in just the right spot. Don’t let that deter you a simple tweak can cost next to nothing and is super easy for a tailor. Find some options here, here, here and here

What do you think? Will you be wearing a midi skirt this fall?
