Gray Malin's California Home

Did everyone see Gray Malin's home featured on One King's Lane?  I'm sure many of you have seen his work floating around the internet and blog world.  He's really blown up and I'm loving seeing how his brand keeps evolving.  He just shared some really beautiful before and after pictures of the living room and backyard renovation of his amazing California bungalow.  He teamed up with One King's Lane to offer all of the products seen in his design.  You can see more and shop the products here...

Also, just because it's fun to think about, if you were to pick any of his photographs, which would you pick?  I think I'd go with either Bondi Swimmers or maybe Miami Pink Umbrellas.  If budget's didn't exist, I would love a huge photograph like this in Virginia's room.

And, just because it's really fun to think about, if you got to visit any of these locations, which would you pick?  I'm going with Positano!  It's hard to believe places this beautiful exist.  Every one of these photographs are like a dream.

Dream Vacation - Driving the Coast of Maine

Growing up in South Carolina, most of our family beach vacations were spent along the low country Carolina coast.  (Most summer vacations were in Pawley's Island/Litchfield Beach, and we love this no-frills, laid back area of the coast!)  Heath spent a summer in college as a nanny in Northeast Harbor, Maine and I'm dying to take a summer vacation sometime to Maine's coast for a change in scenery.

I'd like to fly into Boston and spend a weekend in the city.  Then, we'd pick up our rental car (a Jeep preferably, cheesy but we have to be able to ride with the top down!) and take our time weaving in and out of Maine's charming coastal towns stopping in at least Kennebunkport, Freeport and then Bar Harbor.  In each little fishing town, I'd like to stay in a traditional New England old fashioned, charming bed and breakfast or resort such as the White Barn Inn in Kennebunkport.

Dream Vacation - Nanuku Island

Check out Nanuku island, a private island in Fiji available on Airbnb. You and 9 guests would have the entire island to yourself, surrounded by nothing other than clear blue water and coconut trees. The island includes two homes, a local guide and housekeeper, snorkel gear and 180 degree views of the amazing sunsets. How amazing does that sound?

Dream Vacation - Cumberland Island

We're starting a new series about dream vacations. Some will be quick weekend getaways and others extravagant vacations somewhere far away. But all of these unique vacations have us dreaming about our next interesting vacation spot wherever it may be!

A while ago a coworker mentioned a trip his family takes annually to Cumberland Island, Georgia. I was completely smitten once he explained this uninhabited island.  Cumberland Island is Georgia's largest barrier island off the southern cost and was originally Thomas and Lucy Carnegie's 19th century retreat. Now the island is car free and only accessible by a passenger ferry. There are very few year round residents and even fewer accommodations for guests, but there is availability to camp on parts of the island. I know camping isn't for everyone but there's something about how untouched this land is that has me dreaming of a weekend camping trip along this gorgeous coast. The beaches still have wild horses roaming freely and are home to loggerhead sea turtles. How cool!

For all you non campers (cough cough MK) there is the Greyfield Inn which looks absolutely dreamy as well!

PS Cumberland Island is also where JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette were married!
